Owairaka School was lucky enough to have community heroes visit today.
They were police dog handlers and their dogs.
Alice and her dog black 2 year old German shepard Dodge showed us some obedience drills.
Ryan and his dog showed us some tracking skills on a long tracking lead. The dog was searching out a toy.
Jamie and Prego demonstrated some chase skills with another police officer being the offender.

Today, Room 24, along with some fabulous parent helpers, went to Te Tuhi art gallery for a visit.
The students created some New Zealand culture and symbols inspired etched art.
All students came away with an individual piece which looks fantastic making a very colourful addition to the classroom windows.
