Kia ora The Room 24 children think that they would risk their safety to do those things because the girls are earning money to help their families live. The money buys food (nan and rice), tea, gas, clothes, rent, and trays for the girls to sell items on. By pretending to be boys, this also allows other girls in the family to go outside when they need to have a boy with them. The 'window woman' risks her safety as she might be lonely, she might be helping Parvana by giving her items to sell at the market, or it could be a distant relative that knows it is Parvana on the mat below her.
Do you think that they are all brave risking their safety doing the things they do?
